Home Modification

Modifications include any work to your home which changes it to make it safer, more accessible or easier to use.

Minor modifications include handrails to internal and external steps, a hand held shower, grab rails to the shower and beside the toilet, removal of shower screens and installation of a shower rod and curtain, installation of wedge ramps to small lips and steps, platforms to raise the height of chairs and beds and any other modification recommended by an Occupational Therapist to ensure a client’s safety.

Major modifications include building a ramp to replace steps, widening of doorways to provide wheelchair access and removal of a bath or shower hob resulting in a full bathroom modification.

We can also assist with adjustments to furniture or fittings which have an impact on your safety or personal use eg wooden platforms to raise the height of chairs or beds.

Information and Advice

FAHMOS also offer information and advice to clients regarding modifications, maintenance, other services available and assist clients in accessing other Home and Community Care services as required.
